*No information is available about the early years of his children.

*He went on to study at Allahabad University. He graduated with a Physics degree from the university in 1942.

Few sources claim that he worked at the Gun Carriage Factory located in Jabalpur. But it’s not verified.

*The information that we have is that Swami Brahmananda was his administrative secretary. He took the new name of “Bal Brahmachari” Mahesh.

He was named this because he was recognized as an exemplary student who had a deep spiritual understanding. Swami Brahmananda referred to him as his “favorite disciple” because he handled many aspects of the Ashram. He was also in the public eye to deliver speeches about Vedas.

*Maharshi Mahesh (then Bal Brahmachari Mahesh), a disciple of Swami Brahmananda, stayed with him until 1953.

He left Uttarkashi in 1955 to spread the knowledge he had learned from his Guru Dev “Brahmananda Sarswati” about Transcendental Mediation. He taught Transcendental Technique to Indians, mainly Hindus. During these years, the title Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was bestowed upon him.

He was featured in many articles, which stated that he didn’t work to make money but for the good of the community by eliminating unhappiness.

*He inspired music by the Beatles, a famous rock band of popular boys. It was criticized as well, as the meeting with Maharishi and his stay were labelled a “public error”. Their encounter led to the song “Sexy Sadie”. McCartney’s daughter Stella visited the Maharishi with McCartney in 2007.

*Maharishi Mahesh Yugi built a headquarters in Seelisberg, Switzerland, in 1968. At this new location, he started to teach Transcendental Mindfulness and ceased other public activity.

* He also shared his Vedanta-based philosophy called the Science Of Creative Intelligence with many students from USA, Canada and other countries.

The cover of the Times Magazine in October 1975 featured Maharishi

*He was very concerned about the state of his health. As a result, he kept himself to himself and seldom spoke with anyone. It was his pleasure to be at the feet Guru Dev, (Brahmananda-Saraswati), and take Guru Dev’s light into my environment.
